Matanga — the elephant

Matanga is Sanskrit for elephant: strength, memory and patience. The name also honours Matanga Muni, the ancient music scholar who wrote the Brihaddeshi, and Matanga Rishi, whose hermitage sheltered Shabari in the Ramayana.

MATANGA is a small family enterprise in India. We make handmade textiles and clothing.

Everything is made the slow way, by hand.

Kabira Collection

Our first drop, the Kabira Collection by MATANGA, is soft cotton clothing for kids aged 1 to 10 years, plus baby play mats.
